Nicky Stewart ARPS

Prior to returning to Jersey in 1993 Nicola ran a textile design studio, Le Plongeon Designs, in London in partnership with her sister.

They designed for furnishing fabric manufacturers in England and overseas, exhibiting their work at trade fairs in London, New York, Japan, Frankfurt and other cities and also travelling to Canada, Sweden and Norway.  In addition to selling their own designs they also ran a successful textile agency representing 15 up and coming London designers.

On returning to Jersey, Nicola continued to operate the textile design business whilst diversifying into craft products with a particular emphasis on Jersey themes.  Her clients included Voisins, de Gruchy and Jersey Potteries amongst many others.

Her passion for photography developed during a course of evening classes in Autumn 2002.  It has provided a further outlet for her creative flair and in particular she has relished the challenge of being able to experiment with digital photography techniques.

Her favourite shots capture the essence of classic Jersey landscapes whilst having a distinctive contemporary flavour.  She draws her inspiration from the beautiful island that we live in.

She launched her photographic collection at the ‘Power of Light’ exhibition at the Art in the Frame Foundation’s Harbour Gallery in St Aubin.

Since then she has sold her work through Framing workshop and also direct, supplying many businesses and Hotels with her work.
